De Gea to extend United stay

David De Gea is ready to shun Real Madrid and sign a bumper new deal with Manchester United, according to the Metro.

Having initially struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League, the 23 year old has developed into one of the best goalkeepers in the division and made it in to the 2012/13 PFA Team of the Season when United romped to the championship in Sir Alex Ferguson’s final campaign in charge.

He made his competitive debut for Spain this week, ousting Iker Casillas as number one for the Euro 2016 qualifier in Luxembourg, which Vicente Del Bosque’s men won by four goals to nil.

European champions Real have been strongly linked with a move for the former Atletico Madrid man, though he is ready to commit do a double-your-money five year deal which will see him pocket £120,000 per week.

United travel to West Bromwich Albion on Monday evening, and can be backed at 2/1 to win without conceding.
