December 26th: Boxing Day’s Premier League Accumulator – 7/1

With the Premier League making its return on Boxing Day, we are treated to what is a stacked day of festive action. So, for those of you looking to stick on a Christmas acca, we have found a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

Monday December 26th

BST 12:30 Brentford vs Tottenham

While Tottenham might mark their return on Boxing Day battling it out in the top-four chase, it is fair to say that Antonio Conte’s side had struggled to find much stability prior to the festive break. Last seen on November 12th when eventually claiming a thrilling 4-3 victory at home against Leeds, the one-time Chelsea boss will be desperate for his side to claim back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time since the middle of October. With some question marks over Conte’s long-term future in north London, Spurs will also be hoping to find some defensive stability during the second-half of the season. In fact, without a clean sheet in any of their last five top-flight contests, it should also be noted that Monday’s guests have left just a pair of their previous 11 Premier League showdowns unscathed. On the flip side, managing to clinch what was a stunning 2-1 victory away at defending champions Manchester City before heading into the World Cup break, Brentford will be dreaming of a similar display here. However, picking up just two wins from any of their last nine Premier League matchups, Thomas Frank’s side have largely struggled to find a similar level that they set last season. Nevertheless, marking their return to action sat in the top-half of the table, Thomas Frank’s men have also gained a reputation for their rugged displays on home soil. In a contest that could prove to be an enjoyable affair, we’re backing chances to come at both ends of the pitch.

Tip: Both teams to score @ 8/11

15:00 Crystal Palace vs Fulham

After heading into the World Cup’s festive break with a downbeat 1-0 loss away at Premier League returners Nottingham Forest, Crystal Palace should be glad to make a return to Selhurst Park on Boxing Day. Although Patrick Vieira’s men might have continued to show some rather glaring issues outside of south London this season, the former Arsenal icon has seen his side gain plenty of plaudits. Likewise, last seen on home soil claiming a 1-0 win against Southampton, the Eagles have won each of their previous three top-flight contests in front of their own supporters. With that run highlighted by back-to-back 2-1 victories against Leeds and Wolves back in September, the hosts have also lost just two of their last 13 Premier League contests at Selhurst Park. Marking their return to action with just their goal difference keeping them outside of the top-half, Palace should be boosted by an eye-catching record against Monday’s guests. In fact, it should be highlighted, the Eagles have collected 10 points from just their last four Premier League meetings against Fulham. On the flip side, although the Cottagers might have impressed many since making their top-flight return, Marco Silva’s men had endured somewhat of a wobble. Heading into the interval with a last-gasp 2-1 loss at home against Manchester United, the one-time Everton boss has seen his side win just two of their last eight top-flight contests.

Tip: Crystal Palace win @ 21/20

20:00 Arsenal vs West Ham

While Arsenal might have missed out on a Champions League return last season, the Gunners mark their return to Premier League action in the midst of a remarkable purple patch. Only continuing to gain a string of plaudits from across Europe, Mikel Arteta’s youngsters are now at the heart of a shock title charge. Opening up the Boxing Day fixtures holding a five-point buffer over defending champions Manchester City, Monday’s hosts will simply be looking to carry on from where they left off last month. Heading into the World Cup’s festive break with a deserved 2-0 victory away at Wolves, Arteta’s side have lost just a single Premier League showdown since opening up the 2022/23 campaign. Likewise, it should also be highlighted, Arsenal had previously collected 22 points from their final eight pre-World Cup contests. Continuing to shine with their rugged displays at the back, the Gunners will be looking to cash in on a West Ham squad who find themselves battling it out at the foot of the table. Despite reaching the Europe League semi-final last season, David Moyes’ men have really come crashing back down to earth. Heading into the interval with a 2-0 loss at home against Leicester last month, the ex-Manchester United boss had also seen his downbeat squad lose four of their last five Premier League outings. Facing a huge test when they travel across London on Boxing Day, we’re backing Arsenal to make their return with another statement on home soil.
