Doors for Pogba open at Real – Ramos

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos says the door is open for Paul Pogba of Manchester United to come to the club. Speaking to Daily Express, the controversial defender praised Pogba by saying he had shown his qualities both a Juventus and now at United.

Real had been trying to prize the Frenchman from Old Trafford all through the summer transfer window. They eventually failed as United requested the kind of fee they couldn’t afford, having already spent over €300 million on new players. Pogba himself made no secret of his wish to try new challenges, while manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer often spoke about the midfielder being in his plans for this season.

Los Blancos considered the likes of Christian Eriksen of Tottenham Hotspur or Donny van de Beek of Ajax as alternative options, but apparently coach Zinedine Zidane was adamant about wanting only Pogba. It now seems Real haven’t really given up, and they’re launching a typical “charm offensive” in an attempt to get him as keen on the move as possible.

Ramos believes that Pogba’s offensive influence and “amazing physique” would bring balance to the team.
