Competition: Irish Premier Division

Market: Dundalk win and both teams to score

Odds: 5/2 @ Bet 365

Enjoying a stellar run of form, a high-flying Dundalk will welcome a resurgent Sligo Rovers to Oriel Park on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, coming off the back of another impressive showing in their 3-1 win over UCD in the League Cup on Monday night, the mood in Dundalk’s camp will be on a high. With the chance to extend their buffer over Shamrock at the top of the table, it will once again be the Reds’ continued showings at Oriel Park spearheading their title charge. Vinny Perth’s men are enjoying a three-match winning run in front of their own supporters and are yet to taste defeat on home soil this season and have won nine of their 10 matches in Dundalk. While Friday’s hosts may have only recorded one clean sheet in their last five matches at Oriel Park they have scored two or more goals in five of their last six at home.

As for the visitors, coming off the back of a surprise 2-1 win away at Europa League hopefuls Bohemians last time out, few would have expected Sligo’s recent resurge. Enjoying a seven-match unbeaten run and desperate to climb into the top-half of the table, Head Coach Liam Buckley will also be growing more impressed by his sides’ performance on the road. Friday’s visitors are unbeaten in their last four matches away from The Showgrounds. Despite their recent resurge, Rovers do hold a worrying record when it comes to their trips to Oriel Park. Buckley’s side have failed to win any of their last five matches in Dundalk, a run that stems back to 2015. While we do expect the hosts to come away with the victory on Friday, we would not be surprised to see Sligo to come away with a consolation goal.
