Eintracht Frankfurt are keeping themselves busy! After selling Luka Jovic to Real Madrid €60m in one of the most exciting deals in European football this summer, the Bundesliga outfit have already found a potential replacement. Dejan Joveljic joins the German club from Red Star Belgrade.
The 19-year-old striker has similarities with Jovic, not only in their last name, but also they were both born in Bijeljina and have made their way from youth ranks of Red Star to the club’s first team. Frankfurt will pay Red Star €4m in two installments of €2m, plus a potential €1m in add-ons and 10 per cent from the next sale. He signed a contract with the club until June 2024.
Fredi Bobic, Eintracht’s sporting director, said about Joveljic:
“Dejan is a very good centre forward who is versatile and also able to play as a wide attacker. Obviously he’s still young and still has things to learn, but we’re very optimistic that he’ll settle quickly here in Frankfurt.
