Well it’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for…
…it’s Euros and Copa America week! The best nations in the world are all competing for the biggest prize on their respective continent and the chance to go down in folklore history.
The action begins on the 10th June, with the Euro’s final scheduled for the 11th July and the Copa America final on the 12th July.
It’s set to be a month of footballing heaven…
Here is a quick breakdown of the countries to look out for at Euro 2020 and the list of top betting odds as provided by bet365:
It’s hard to look past Didier Deschamps’s men considering the array of talent they have on offer and the fact they are reigning world champions. Not only that, but they have also added Karim Benzema to their ranks to increase the firepower. Anything less than reaching the final would be considered a major underachievement for Les Bleus.
With the likes of Harry Kane, Phil Foden, Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Jack Grealish leading the charge, it’s safe to say that what Southgate’s men lack in defence, they certainly make up for in attack. It remains to be seen whether the squad has what it takes to get past a likely run-in of Germany, Spain and Belgium before reaching the final however.
Any team with Kevin De Bruyne is likely to cause serious damage, and not only have the Red Devils got KDB, but they’ve also got an in-form Romelu Lukaku and (hopefully) a returning to full fitness Eden Hazard. Those three players will strike fear into any opposing country and could see them go deep into the competition.
As once said by Gary Lineker; “Football is a simple game, twenty-two men chase a ball for 90 minutes and at the end, the Germans always win”. But that may not be the case this summer as the Germans are ranked 12th in the world and haven’t looked at their best for some time now. You’d still be a brave man to write them off though…
