Everton consider Todibo loan, Tomori also an option

Everton are considering a loan move for Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo, according to Liverpool Echo, with Chelsea’s Fikayo Tomori also being looked at in that respect.

Manager Carlo Ancelotti is keen to reinforce his back line by adding another centre-back to his ranks before the window is out, and at the moment, only a temporary move is considered an option for the club. Everton are currently preparing to take on Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup tonight (Wednesday), and they’re going into the match with only two senior central defenders fit for action.

Mason Holgate is suffering from a toe injury which is set to keep him out for a while, despite the issue being judged not to require surgical procedure. Young Jarrad Branthwaite damaged his ankle ligaments against Salford City last week and will also be on the sidelines for a significant period of time. These problems leave Ancelotti with only Michael Keane and Yerry Mina as options in the heart of defence.

Everton tried to sign veteran Thiago Silva upon the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain, but eventually lost out to Chelsea.
