Everton fail in Raul Jimenez bid

Portuguese daily newspaper A Bola claims that Everton failed in late bid for Benfica striker Raul Jimenez.

Having failed to recruit another centre forward on transfer deadline day, the Toffees offered €3 million to sign the Mexican on a season-long loan.

However, with Benfica earlier selling Kostas Mitroglou to Marseille, they decided to hold on to Jimenez, who finally gets a chance to secure a regular starting berth.

Everton had recruited Sandro Ramirez from Malaga, and they wanted to further reinforce their front line, but ultimately could not succeed in their quest.

Their target Raul Jimenez has done pretty well at Estadio da Luz, scoring 24 goals and providing 9 assists in 82 competitive appearances.
