Fabianski being eyed by Schalke

Schalke are planning a move for out-of-favour Arsenal goalkeeper Lukas Fabianski, according to the Mirror.

The 28 year old, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has made just two appearances this season, both in the Capital One Cup, with fellow Poland international Wojciech Szczesny established as the Gunners’ number one.

Schalke are keen on bringing in a new goalkeeper, with current first choice Timo Hindebrand having kept just three clean sheets in twelve Bundesliga appearances this season.

Fabianski moved to the Emirates Stadium from Legia Warsaw in 2007, but has made just thirty-one league appearances under Arsene Wenger.

However, the Gunners’ boss is unlikely to let the 28 year old leave without first bringing in more cover.

Emiliano Viviano moved to the North London club on a season long loan from Palermo in the summer while Argentina U20 shot-stopper Damian Martinez is on loan with Sheffield Wednesday.
