Spain midfielder Cesc Fabregas has warned his team-mates of Portugal’s quick counterattacks ahead of Wednesday’s Euro 2012 semi-final.

The Barcelona attacker feels their upcoming opponents are very dangerous going forward with the likes of Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo, and also took time to praise their midfield.

“Portugal have a strong counterattack, but if I were a coach and had Nani and Cristiano Ronaldo I’d probably play that way too,” Fabregas told the official UEFA website.

“There may be three Real Madrid players in their side but they have a distinct style. Portugal have a midfield which likes to hold the ball and use it well.”

Ronaldo has scored three times for Portugal this tournament to be tied at the top of the Golden Boot standings, while Fabregas is one goal behind with two for the campaign.
