Fenerbahce on the brink of signing Arsenal defender

Turkish giants Fenerbahce are preparing to offer a contract to free agent William Gallas after his deal with Arsenal ended this summer.

The shock elimination for the Champions League at the hands of Young Boys did not stop the club from continuing their shopping spree and the Turks now look set to offer former Arsenal captain a chance to kick-start his career.

The 33-year-old Frenchman will be offered a two-year deal worth 3.5 million euros per season as the club look to pair him with captain and one of star performers at this year’s World Cup, Diego Lugano.

The Turkish club have already bought Issar Dia from Nancy, but they are also courting Ligue 1 stars Mamadou Niang, Bafetimbi Gomis and Asamoah Gyan as they look to add a world-class striker to their ranks.
