Forest closing in on permanent Hobbs deal

Nottingham Forest are close to agreeing a pre-contract agreement with defender Jack Hobbs, according to BBC Sport.

The centre-back has been on loan with Billy Davies’ promotion chasers since the summer and is set to remain at the City Ground until the end of the season, with view to a permanent deal.

However, Reading have entered the race to sign the centre-back who is set to be out of contract when the season finishes.

Hull are keen to recall the defender as they look to recoup some money for the 25 year old who has made 27 appearances so far this season.

The former Lincoln City, Liverpool and Leicester City man is currently side-lined with a hamstring injury which is set to keep him out of action for two weeks.

Forest currently sit fifth in the Championship, and can be backed at a price of 10/3 to secure promotion to the Premier League.
