Futures of Isco and James depend on each other

The futures of Isco Alarcon and James Rodriguez appear to be closely tied to each other. If a report by AS is to be believed, it seems only one of them may have a role yet to play at Real Madrid.

Real would be willing to accept letting one of them go, but not both as they feel it would limit their midfield options too much. The Colombian spent the last two season on loan with Bayern Munich, and following his exploits at the Copa America, he is set to return to the club at the end of this month, by which time they will hope to have his fate resolved.

Real have already spent over €300 million on fresh faces this summer and Paul Pogba still remains on their wish list, and now they’re actively looking to generate some income through player sales. Napoli have shown an interest in James, but the only offer the Serie A club have made so far is one of a loan move, which is something Real president Florentino Perez isn’t keen on.

Isco is valued at €80 million, and if an offer of that size arrives and he departs, the Colombian is certain to stay.
