Club Atletico Colon defender German Conti has moved to confirm that he will soon be joining Portuguese giants Benfica.
The Eagles have been negotiating a deal for the Argentine centre-back for several weeks now and they finally had a bid accepted.
Speaking after the important triumph over Racing Club, Conti confirmed that Benfica would be his next destination.
“The (club) leaders told me they had accepted the offer. From Benfica, yes,” Conti told reporters. “There are some details missing, but we hope to finalise everything so that I can travel (to Lisbon).”
German Conti has spent his entire career up to date with Colon, making a total of 110 top flight appearances for the club.
Having performed admirably over the last couple of years, the 23-year-old has now earned a chance to test his skills in European football.
