Gill: Fergie has cash to spend

(GSM) – Manchester United chief executive David Gill claims Sir Alex Ferguson has money to spend in the summer. It has been suggested that Ferguson has a reduced transfer budget because of the great debts on the club.

Ferguson has already agreed deals for Chris Smalling and Javier Hernandez to join United next season and Gill has confirmed that Fergie is likely to have more funds at his disposal.

“I can look you in the eye and tell you straight that we have the transfer funds available to the manager,” said Gill.

“Targets have been discussed already, as you’d expect, but it’s not our style to talk about names and it never will be.”
