Hull closing in on Dawson signing

Hull City are on the verge of completing the signing of Michael Dawson from Tottenham Hotspur, according to the Mail Online.

The centre-back has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane for some time, and has fallen further down the pecking order at the North London club following the arrival of Eric Dier, who scored for a second weekend in succession in the 4-0 win over Queens Park Rangers on Sunday afternoon.

Since arriving from Nottingham Forest in January 2005, the 30 year old has racked up three hundred and twenty-four appearances in all competitions, scoring ten goals while internationally, he has been capped four times for England.

Steve Bruce has already raided Spurs twice during his time with the Tigers, having signed Dawson’s former teammates Tom Huddlestone and Jake Livermore.

Hull face Belgian side Lokeren in the second leg of their Europa League qualifying play-off tomorrow evening, and can be backed at 4/9 to win the match.
