According to a recent report from Tuttosport, Inter Milan are increasingly confident in their ability to complete two big signings during the summer transfer window – Ilkay Gundogan and Ivan Rakitic, of Manchester City and Barcelona respectively. Inter have had a rollercoaster ride of a season so far both on and off the pitch, with arguably the biggest story being the saga surrounding forward Mauro Icardi. At this stage, though, it seems as if the issues surrounding the Argentine are starting to simplify themselves – which opens up the door for Inter to go after other players.
Gundogan is considered to be an under-utilised member of City’s squad at this moment in time and could be a fun addition to Inter’s squad, whereas the Rakitic signing has supposedly been in the pipeline for quite some time now.
If they can get it done, it’d be one of the biggest moves from either Milan club in quite a few years.
