Inter Milan have submitted a new offer to Chelsea for the services of Olivier Giroud, according to Sky Sports.
The striker appears desperate to leave Stamford Bridge today. He is even considering not turning up for training as he seeks to secure a move. He has been linked most heavily with Inter Milan, though reports suggest he would be open to Tottenham Hotspur as well as he would prefer to stay in London if he is to continue playing in the Premier League.
Inter’s interest has been coming in waves, blowing hot and cold at very short intervals. They were also interested in Fernando Llorente of Napoli but that move seems to be out of the picture altogether. The latest information, prior to this one, was that the Nerazzurri were to put their pursuit of Giroud on hold until the summer, when they could sign him for free as his contract will have expired.
Now it seems it was either a negotiating strategy or they simply changed their minds, aware that there would be a lot more interest in the 33-year-old Frenchman at the end of the season.
