Inter Milan have slowed the talks about a new contract for Mauro Icardi down, according to AS.
The talks did not look as though they would be completed any time soon even before, with the Serie A club and the striker’s wife and agent Wanda Nara openly displaying a fair level of mutual animosity recently. However, both sides have moved to defuse the tension within reason, and although a contract extension hasn’t been agreed yet, it hasn’t been ruled out either.
There is hardly a big club in Europe with which Icardi hasn’t been linked, and he will certainly not be short of suitors should he start looking likely to leave the north of Italy despite not scoring a goal for over a month now, since mid December.
Nara recently revealed that she wants her husband and client to renew his contract, but she also insisted she wasn’t able to predict future, indicating that a lot lies with the club.
