Bayern Munich won the Bundesliga title last season. However, they needed to fill a huge void after the departures of both Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben. As such, Die Roten needed to sign at least one more winger to increase their depth at the position ahead of the 2018-19 season. Serge Gnabry and Kingsley Coman are good players, but the club needed at least one more winger.

The Bavarian side was keen to sign Leroy Sane this summer. However, the Manchester City star suffered an ACL injury and will recover for around six to eight months, so he couldn’t arrive at the Allianz Arena side. But instead of making a big deal out of that, Bayern moved on to the next target, and there is a big chance they have found the winger they needed on the market.

According to several reports, only details are separating Bayern to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter. The Croatia international wants to leave the Serie A side, and the German giants are keen to take him on board. According to a report from Gianluca di Marzio, Perisic will join Bayern on a season-long loan deal worth €5 million. They would have to pay up €20 million to sign him ahead of the 2020-21 campaign.

Bayern and Perisic are made for each other!

This is undoubtedly an excellent move for both Bayern and Perisic. The former Wolfsburg star already knows what it’s like to play in the Bundesliga, and he should quickly become a mainstay on the left side of the attack for Niko Kovac’s squad. Plus, he is on his prime years and comes to Bayern after several years playing at the top level for Inter.

He is not much of a scoring threat, however, after netting just nine goals with eight assists in 45 matches across all competitions last term. But he can generate havoc on opposing defences solely based on his pace and skilled left foot. Plus, he also has a lot of international experience after winning 82 caps (with 23 goals) for the Croatian national team.

Perisic should generate an excellent society with David Alaba on the left side of Bayern as well. Considering Alaba’s tendencies to overlap and Perisic’s ability to cut inside, they can quickly become one of Europe’s most deadly partnership when it comes to attacking out wide.

The deal is not done yet. But Bayern should announce the move sooner than later. And if they end up acquiring the Croatian winger, then they can be satisfied with the transfer window. Adding someone like Perisic should ensure them as the top title candidates on the Bundesliga for one more year.
