Despite thanking him and claiming that he would be welcome at Tottenham Hotspur anytime, the newly appointed Jose Mourinho couldn’t resist aiming a dig at the sacked Mauricio Pochettino. It slightly catches his old rival, Jurgen Klopp of Liverpool, as well. And he did it mere seconds after declaring himself ‘humble’.

Klopp lost the Champions League final twice, with Borussia Dortmund to Bayern Munich in 2013 and with Liverpool to Real Madrid in 2018, while Pochettino lost this year with Spurs to Klopp’s Liverpool. On the other hand, Mourinho’s teams played in two finals of UEFA’s elite club competition, Porto in 2004 and Inter Milan in 2010, and won both.
