James Rodriguez will leave Real Madrid this summer, and he won’t be the last one to go through the exit door, according to AS.
The 13-time European champions and still the Champions League holders are preparing for a truly massive summer overhaul by all accounts. The upcoming transfer window should see them part with €540 million to acquire Paul Pogba, Christian Eriksen, Eden Hazard, Tanguy Ndombele and Luka Jović, in addition to Porto’s Eder Militao whose services have already been secured.
Such a substantial expense and the arrival of six new players will certainly mean several outgoing transfers, and it seems the Colombian playmaker is set to lead the exodus; followed closely by Gareth Bale.
Bayern Munich have been given a June 15th deadline to make a decision on whether to trigger the option of signing James permanently this summer for €42 million, and should they decide not to, Real will look for another buyer. It’ll be slightly more difficult with Bale whose massive wages still repulse suitors.
Midfielders Mateo Kovačić, Toni Kroos and Marcos Llorente will also be put up for sale.
