January 28th: Tuesday’s League One Double – 8/1 Special, Betting Tips & Predictions

With a stacked Tuesday schedule from across England, we have a full round of League One fixtures on the cards in midweek.

As the likes of Birmingham and Wrexham look to extend on their respective promotion charges, we also have some must-win showdowns from the foot of the third-tier standings.

For those of you looking to stick on a midweek flutter, we have taken a glance at two of the most appealing League One betting tips.

19:45 Rotherham vs Cambridge United

Eventually falling to a frantic 4-2 loss away at Burton last weekend, Rotherham will certainly be seeking an immediate response here. Nevertheless, while Tuesday’s hosts might be seeking a minor miracle in the race to book an immediate Championship return this season, Steve Evans’ men have suffered just a single defeat from any of their previous six appearances across all competitions. Likewise, landing their own 4-2 victory against Charlton in their last showdown at the New York Stadium, the former Gillingham boss will be excited by his side’s recent success on home soil. Including a stellar 3-1 romp against play-off contenders Bolton earlier in the month, Rotherham have won five of their previous seven showdowns in front of their own supporters. It should also be highlighted, the Yorkshire-based outfit have notched 16 goals in those seven consecutive showdowns at the New York Stadium.

Dragging themselves to what was a thrilling 3-2 win against Mansfield over the weekend, Cambridge will be desperate to use that performance as a platform to build on. However, still sat in the relegation zone and opening Tuesday’s showdown sat six points adrift of League One safety, Garry Monk’s men are pencilled in as a leading relegation contender this season. Getting the New Year underway with a 3-1 drumming at home against Reading, the former Swansea boss will have a real headache over his side’s extended defensive issues. Signing off 2024 with a 2-0 loss against Leyton Orient, Cambridge have failed to record a clean sheet in any of their previous 13 appearances across all competitions. Likewise, Tuesday’s guests have conceded at least a pair of goals in eight of their last nine outings. On a similar note, Monk’s camp have shipped 14 goals in their last six showdowns away from the Abbey Stadium.

Rotherham vs Cambridge United Betting Tip: Andre Green to score anytime @ 15/4 with Pribet

19:45 Charlton vs Bristol Rovers

While Charlton might have endured a stuttering start when opening the New Year, Tuesday’s hosts have certainly claimed a much-welcomed boost over the past week. Putting in another gritty display over the weekend as they snatched a 1-0 victory at home against Shrewsbury, the Addicks have collected back-to-back League One victories. Laying down a marker on January 21st as they clinched a 2-1 win away at Bolton, Nathan Jones’ men still have their sights set on mounting a play-off charge. Opening the midweek fixtures sat just two points adrift of skyrocketing back into the top-six, Charlton have also gained a reputation for their rugged success on home soil. Including a 2-1 win against Cambridge last month, the former Southampton boss has seen his squad muster 10 points from their previous four League One showdowns at the Valley. Likewise, Charlton have recorded consecutive clean sheets in south London for the first time since the middle of November.

Making an immediate return to losing ways last weekend as they fell to a deserved 2-0 defeat away at Wigan, Bristol Rovers have drastically struggled to find any kind of stability. Crashing out of the FA Cup on January 12th following a routine 3-0 loss against Premier League outfit Ipswich, the Pirates are looking over their shoulder at a looming relegation scrap. Signing off 2024 with a 3-0 defeat against Stevenage, Tuesday’s guests have lost five of their previous seven appearances across all competitions. Likewise, Inigo Calderon’s men have recorded just a pair of wins from any of their last 10 outings. Suffering a 2-0 loss when they travelled to Birmingham last month, Bristol Rovers have gained an unwanted reputation for their glaring issues away from the Memorial Stadium. In fact, the Pirates have lost six of their previous seven away fixtures across all fronts.
