Jorge Valdano rules out new signings

Real Madrid general manager Jorge Valdano announced there would be no new signings during this transfer window.

At a press conference organized to unveil Real’s latest signing Mesut Ozil, Valdano has ruled out the arrival of new players.

“There will be no new signings during this transfer window. We have made a great effort to rejuvenate the squad. We are very pleased to have completed that goal.”

Before Mesut Ozil’s signing was completed, Angel Di Maria, Sergio Canales, Pedro Leon and Sami Khedira all arrived to Santiago Bernabeu, along with Jose Mourinho, who, unlike Valdano, wasn’t prepared to put an end to speculation linking various players to Real Madrid.

“We have invested enough, but a coach always wants more,” said Mourinho.
