Juventus keen on Walcott if contract talks fail

The Metro is today reporting that Arsene Wenger and Theo Walcott are set to hold fresh contract talks this week, meaning that the winger could sign a new deal at the Emirates Stadium.

The Walcott contract saga has dragged on for a while now, but it seems as though a deal could be close to keep him in North London.

He impressed for the Gunners on Saturday evening against West Ham United and even got on the score-sheet with a clinical finish which put his side in the lead.

The England international is of course now away with his national side for their two matches over the next eight days, but Wenger is planning talks with his representatives.

However, Serie A Champions Juventus have been reported as an admirer of Walcott and should he fail to sign a new contract with the English Premier League side – they could make a move in the January transfer window.

If the 23-year-old does not sign with Arsenal then the Italian giants are able to lure him with a pre-contract agreement that would see him join next summer.

It is looking likely that Walcott will stay at the emirates Stadium for a the long-term, but a move to Juventus is sure to tempt him.
