Juventus to go for Milenković

Juvenuts have turned their attention to Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenković, Corriere dello Sport are reporting.

After only a year of adaptation, the Serb has become the central figure of the Viola defence. Apart from that, Milenković is a highly versatile defender even though his predominant position is at centre-back, and at the age of only 21, it’s a highly valued feat for a player that has his almost entire career before him to grow and develop further. Juventus were also impressed by his quality displays at the World Cup despite Serbia going out of the tournament in the group stages.

As for the transfer fee the former Partizan Belgrade youngster would command, the report suggests that, having paid €5million for him and owing his former club a further 10% of any potential sell-on fee, Fiorentina would be happy with a €20million profit, which sets the overall figure to €35million. That is a sum Juventus would apparently be more willing to pay for Milenković than the €55million, possibly more, Ajax would demand for Matthijs de Ligt.
