Juventus to start Locatelli talks

Juventus are scheduled to start their negotiations with Sassuolo over a potential deal to sign Manuel Locatelli this week, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who prefers to sit deep and provide protection for the back line but can also play in a more advanced role, made a total of 34 appearances for Sassuolo in 2020-21. all in the Serie A. His fine performances have not only attracted the interests of potential suitors, but they also made Italy manager Roberto Mancini take note and select him for his squad at the ongoing Euros. Mancini’s faith in this player has been well repaid, particularly through his brace in the 3-0 win over Switzerland in the second round of the group stage.

The interest from Juventus was first reported back in February, and the names of Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been mention since as well. Locatelli has two years left on his Sassuolo contract.
