Keylor Navas was practically unchallenged for the No. 1 spot at Real Madrid for a long time, but the arrival of Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea at the end of this summer signaled the end the Costa Rican’s comfort in that respect. Having found himself in an unfamiliar position since his arrival to Santiago Bernabeu in 2014, Navas has been linked with a move away from the Spanish capital.
Reports recently emerged that Juventus, with their faith in Wojciech Szscesny gradually wavering, were interested in his services. However, Corriere di Torino now claim the Serie A champions have actually turned down an opportunity to sign Navas.
Apparently, the 31-year-old’s representatives contacted Juventus to find out if they would be interested, but their response was a negative one. They still believe Szscesny can deliver the goalkeeping quality needed for them to challenge for the Champions League to add to their impressive collection of domestic trophies.
