Kolasinac arrives to Germany ahead of Schalke return

Sead Kolasinac has arrived to Germany ahead of a proposed loan move back to Schalke 04, according to Sky Sports, and the Bundesliga side are confident the deal will be completed soon.

The Bosnian left-back joined the Gunners on a free transfer in the summer of 2017, having spent five years as a member of the first team at Schalke, for which he played a total of 123 games in all competitions in that time, scoring four goals and assisting further 13. He arrived at the Emirates in the hope of strengthening the left defensive flank and was expected to make the spot in the team his own. However, he was unable to do that and in 2019 the club signed Kieran Tierney from Celtic, who has become a regular starter under Mikel Arteta.

This term, Kolasinac played only once in the Premier League – the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 victory over West Ham back in September, but it seems that the 27-year-old is keen to return to Germany for personal reasons. He was previously close to a move to Bayer Leverkusen, but that deal fell through over personal terms.
