Koulibaly plays down Napoli exit rumours

Kalidou Koulibaly has poured very cold water over all the speculative reports suggesting he would be leaving Napoli any time soon.

The 29-year-old defender is widely considered among the best in the world his position. There have been reports lately claiming that Liverpool were looking at him as a potential partner for Virgil van Dijk in the heart of their defence. Manchester United apparently want a player of his calibre to partner Harry Maguire, and Manchester City would reportedly like him to play alongside Aymeric Laporte. Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also been heavily credited with interest in his services.

However, speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Koulibaly said he was very happy in Italy. His children speak Italian as well as French, and he has never talked to the club about departure. What’s more, he has encouraged Lille forward Victor Osimhen to join him at Napoli, telling the 21-year-old he would be very happy in Naples too.
