Leicester reject Man United’s Maguire bid

According to a recent report from Sky Sports News, Manchester United’s improved bid of £70 million for Harry Maguire has been rejected by Leicester City. It was earlier reported that United had ‘moved ahead’ of local rivals Manchester City in the race to complete the signing of Maguire, but now, it appears as if they’re back to square one. The Foxes aren’t interested in agreeing to a deal that is worth less than the £75 million world record fee that is currently set for a defender, which occurred when Liverpool purchased Virgil van Dijk for that amount.

Leicester are especially interested in getting that amount after seeing them secure the signing of Aaron Wan-Bissaka for £50 million. The belief is that he cannot compare to Maguire in terms of international experience.

While that point may be up for debate, nobody can deny that the race for Maguire is getting more and more interesting as the days go by.
