Liverpool agree Fabio Carvalho signing

Liverpool and Fulham have once again reached an agreement over a proposed transfer of Fabio Carvalho from Craven Cottage to Anfield, according to multiple sources.

The two clubs were in talks and had agreed a deal in January, but the paperwork wasn’t completed in time and the move fell through at the eleventh hour. It was afterwards reported that Liverpool’s interest in the young attacking midfielder remained firm and that he was still likely to join the Merseysiders in the summer, and it now seems the deal is done.

Fulham will apparently receive a fee of £5 million, plus £2.7m to follow through add-ons, in compensation for developing Carvalho, despite his contract expiring at the end of the season. Liverpool were obviously prepared to honor the agreement from January, rather than have the amount decided by a tribunal. There is also a 20% sell-on clause included in the deal.

The 19-year-old has so far scored eight goals and provided seven assists in 31 appearances in all competitions for the Cottagers this season, playing an important role in their Championship campaign which has them striding firmly back towards the Premier League.
