According to La Reppublica, Liverpool are preparing a €70 million bid for Napoli’s Lorenzo Insigne.
Liverpool already boast a very formidable attacking line with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino causing all sorts of problems for any opposing defence, but since the departure of Philippe Coutinho to Barcelona last January and the failure of the transfer of Nabil Fekir from Lyon last summer, manager Jurgen Klopp has opted to shift his men slightly around for this season. Salah has moved from the right wing to centre-forward, Firmino dropped to the number 10 role, and Xherdan Shaqiri is the man mostly playing on the right flank.
A potential addition of Insigne would likely see the Swiss drop out again and Salah return to the right.
However, the report claims Liverpool’s bid is destined to fail, with Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis certain to want over €150 million for his star striker.
