Liverpool consider Devyne Rensch swoop

According to Football Insider, Liverpool are contemplating the possibility of signing Devyne Rensch from Ajax, though they could face competition from Arsenal, who are also said to be watching this player carefully.

The Merseysiders are believed to be keen to add a young right-back that can play in other defensive roles as well, and Rensch fits that description perfectly. Set to turn 21 in January, he rose through the famous Ajax acedemy and has made a total of 101 senior appearances for the club so far – 93 as a right-back, 47 as a centre-back, 11 as a left-back, and even 10 as a defensive midfielder.

This season, Rensch has played a total of nine games in all competitions for Ajax, recording one assist.

Liverpool obviously need proper cover for Trent Alexander-Arnold at right-back, with Calvin Ramsay gone to Preston North End on loan for the season, and Joe Gomez, primarily a centre-back, stepping into the role when needed.
