Liverpool have ‘zero interest’ in re-signing Coutinho

Liverpool have made it absolutely clear that they have no intention of re-signing Philippe Coutinho from Barcelona, according to David Maddock of the Mirror.

After an intense, long-drawn saga, the Brazilian playmaker finally managed to force a €160 million move from Anfield to Camp Nou in January 2018. In the end, it turned out to have a negative impact on the player himself and Barcelona. Liverpool re-consolidated their ranks and went on to play two consecutive Champions League finals, winning the second one. On the other hand, Coutinho miserably failed to produce any kind of contribution for the Blaugrana in the 18 months that he spent there, before moving on a season-long loan to Bayern Munich last summer. The Bavarians have indicated that they have no plans to make the deal permanent, and the 28-year-old is due to return to Barcelona soon.

Things haven’t changed there as far as he is concerned. There is still no place for him in the team and they are determined to sell him as soon as FIFA give permission for the next transfer window to open. He has been linked with Chelsea, but also with a return to Anfield.

However, it seems his days in the famous Red shirt are a thing of the past. Liverpool have moved on.
