Liverpool listening to Shaqiri offers

Liverpool appear to be preparing to part ways with Xherdan Shaqiri.

The Switzerland international struggled with injuries a lot this season and has so far started only one game all term. Despite being fully fit at the moment, he is yet to lace up his boots since the restart following the three-month break.

According to Liverpool Echo, Sevilla and AS Roma were interested in signing the 28-year-old in January, but at the time, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp felt he needed all hands on deck as the team prepared to end the 30-year wait for the Premier League title. Reports added Newcastle into the mix a few months later.

But even then, Liverpool had made it known “in private” they would be open to offers in the summer, and it’s understood that the position hasn’t changed.

Takumi Minamino, Divock Origi and Curtis Jones have all been getting some minutes and were even in the starting line-up at least once since the restart, and that could indeed mean that Shaqiri’s days at Anfield are numbered.
