Liverpool set Diomande as primary target to replace Salah

Numerous journalists from different media outlets believe this summer will be the one when Mohamed Salah finally leaves Liverpool, after nine years.

Rightly regarded as a legend of the Merseyside club, the Egyptian’s dip in form this season has been huge, and with his 34th birthday coming in June, there is next to no hope he will ever be back to anywhere near his best.

Several names have been mentioned as potential candidates to replace Salah on the right side of Liverpool’s attack, and the latest claim, coming from the likes of Teamtalk and Florian Plettenberg, is that the Reds have given up on targeting Bayern Munich’s Michael Olise and moved on RB Leipzig’s star on the rise, Yan Diomande.

Still only 19, Diomande has captured the attention from a number of clubs with 10 goals and seven assists in 26 appearances this season, including Bayern and Manchester United, but Liverpool have moved first and already held some preliminary talks in that direction.

However, with his talents out for everyone to see, Diamonde’s price has sky-rocketed to €100million. Leipzig have no intention of letting him leave for anything less, and they hold a strong hand on that with his contract valid until 2030.
