Liverpool won’t sign Ramsey

According to the Mirror, Liverpool will not be signing Arsenal’s Aaron Ramsey next summer.

Ramsey’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, and as things stand at the moment, the club won’t be offering him a new one. The negotiations had been in an advanced stage, but then Arsenal suddenly withdrew their offer, and Sky Sports recently reported that Ramsey has since been informed of the reasons for their decision. Liverpool, along with Manchester United and Juventus, have been named as possible destinations fro the Welshman, but it seems a move to Anfield is not very likely.

At the Mirror they believe Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to pass on the midfielder, and for two reasons. The German’s philosophy when it comes to transfers is to aim for young players whenever possible, and Ramsey at 28 (next summer) doesn’t fit the criteria. Also, as he would be coming on a free transfer, his sign-on fee would likely be huge, as well as his wage demands.
