Liverpool have been spending big in the last couple of transfer windows and brought in a number of players which have since become very important members of the team. Virgil van Dijk arrived for £75 million last January as Philippe Coutinho made his way to Barcelona, and they followed that up with the arrivals of Naby Keita, Fabinho, Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri. The summer before that, Mohamed Salah and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain arrived for a combined sum of £71.9 million.
Liverpool Echo believe that the time has come for those less involved in their recent success (the Reds currently top the Premier League) to search for pastures new. Adam Lallana has barely been involved due to injuries and poor form, Alberto Moreno whose contract expires soon likewise, as well as Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi.
Liverpool have recently handed a new contract to young left-back Adam Lewis, who is set to act as the deputy for Andy Robertson next term, while Rhian Brewster should be stepping up as an attacking backup option. The club’s failure to sign Nabil Fekir from Lyon might mean they would be in for an attacking midfielder in the upcoming transfer window.
