Israeli giants Maccabi Haifa have completed the signing of Argentine defender Ignacio Canuto from Argentinos Juniors. The 24 year moves to Israel for a fee of 1 million euros and has signed a three year contract with the Greens.
Canuto started his career with Union de Santa Fe and had a loan spell with Ben Hur before joining Argentinos Juniors in 2008. He made his debut for the Argentine national team in May 2009.
With Canuto’s signing, Maccabi have filled their foreigners quota for the upcoming season. Canuto joins Tsepo Masilela, Vladimir Dvalishvili, John Culma and Adrien Silva as the other non-Israeli players in Maccabi’s squad.
