Man City could bring in Villa as replacement for Balotelli

Mirror Football is suggesting that Manchester City could be about to make a shock move for Barcelona’s David Villa, as Mario Balotelli looks set to leave for AC Milan.

Roberto Mancini has always liked to have the option of four strikers available and with his controversial Italian man heading back to Serie A, he might look to do some late business.

Villa has been the subject of a lot of speculation in this January transfer window, with Arsenal looking like the favourites to sign him at one point.

However, the English Premier League champions might now make a move with just over 24 hours to go in the window and will hope that £15 million is enough to secure his services.

The Barcelona man is struggling for first-team football at the La Liga outfit right now, but that might be the situation at City as well with Carlos Tevez, Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko all in good form.

It might be a new challenge for him though and one he is sure to relish.

If the deal for Balotelli goes through in time, then Mancini might just shock a few and use the majority of the fee to bring in another goal-scorer.
