Manchester City are interested in signing Sandro Tonali from Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, according to Fichajes. The report has revealed that Real Madrid and Barcelona are also ready to make big bids for the Italy international midfielder.
Reigning Premier League champions Man City are looking for a midfielder after Kevin De Bruyne decided to leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of the season. Man City manager Pep Guardiola personally is keen on a deal for Tonali and has been impressed with his versatility and reliability.
Tonali has been on the books of Newcastle since 2023 when he joined from AC Milan. The 24-year-old Italy international midfielder won Serie A with Milan in 2022 and helped Newcastle clinch the Carabao Cup this season. Newcastle are fifth in the Premier League table at the moment with 59 points from 33 matches, while Man City currently find themselves fourth in the standings with the same number of points but ahead on goal difference.
