Manchester City reject Semedo swap

According to a recent report from Marca, Manchester City have rejected an offer from Barcelona that would’ve seen a swap deal between Nelson Semedo and Joao Cancelo. It’s safe to say that Cancelo has struggled to break into the starting XI this season courtesy of Kyle Walker’s fine run of form, with the belief being that City were offered the chance to sign Semedo way back in January.

Given the uncertainty of the summer transfer window it’s probably going to be quite some time before we get any kind of clarity on the issue, but one thing is clear: Barca really want to get this done.

City won’t want to rock the boat too much, especially if Pep Guardiola trusts in his current squad to really go after Liverpool next season – if they inevitably win the Premier League, as they’re expected to do.

Will City cave and accept the deal? Only time will tell.
