Manchester City wanted Coman for Sane

According to a recent report from Sport Bild, Manchester City pushed for Bayern Munich to include Kingsley Coman in the deal that saw Leroy Sane finally join the German champions.

Bayern wound up rejecting the proposal, but you have to respect the hustle of City for even trying in the first place. It was always going to be tough for them to let go of Sane, especially after the deal had been dragged out for so long. Now that he’s gone, though, they’ll be left to wonder ‘what if’ after Bayern turned away the idea of including Coman in the transfer.

Pep Guardiola could well struggle to lure more top names to the Etihad during the summer transfer window, at least, that’ll be the case if their two-year European ban is upheld.

Even if it isn’t, though, this failed move seems to indicate that they may not have the same appeal as they once did.
