Speaking exclusively to James Pearce of Liverpool Echo, Sadio Mane has revealed he was happy at Liverpool.
Negotiations between Mane and the Champions League runners-up about a new contract were held at the end of last season, but unlike Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, the Senegalese is yet to put his name on the dotted line. That has led to various speculations about his future in the last few months, with Real Madrid said to be interested.
However, Mane says he is happy where he is. He is focusing on football, on doing his best for the team, the manager and the fans, and he leaves all contract matters in the hands of his agent.
The 26-year-old was also asked about his wrongly disallowed goal in Liverpool’s 1-1 draw against Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday, but he simply replied that everybody makes mistakes and pointed out the goal he scored against West Ham as one that stood even though it was scored from an offside position.
