Mane set for new Liverpool contract

Liverpool are set to offer Sadio Mane a new contract, according to NBC Sports.

The forward, who was the joint winner of the Premier League Golden Boot in 2018/19 with 22 strikes, has been mentioned on more than one occasion in regards to interest of Real Madrid prior to Los Blancos signing Eden Hazard from Chelsea this summer. But despite the stories practically vanishing since the Belgian made his move to the Santiago Bernabeu, Liverpool are keen on securing his future with the club and they’re apparently planning to do so by offering him fresh terms that would see his wages significantly boosted.

The contract in question would be set to keep the Senegalese at Anfield and see him earn €13 million every year until 2025, by which time he will have turned 33.

Mane recently had an angry outburst directed towards Mohamed Salah after the Egyptian failed to pass him the ball in a situation which would likely have resulted in a goal in a win away to Burnley, had Salah done so. However, the two wingers have since reconciled their differences, leaving their relationship intact.
