Marcelo to leave Real?

Real Madrid’s Marcelo has had an hour-long meeting with club sporting director Jose Angel Sanchez on Monday, during which his future at the club was being discussed, according to Spanish radio network Cadena COPE.

Marcelo has been a crucial part of the Real Madrid team for 12 years now. He has put on the famous white shirt 476 times and scored 36 goals coming in from the left defensive flank. Since arriving from Fluminense in January, 2007, he has won four La Liga titles, two Copa del Rey trophies, and four Champions League trophies.

However, after all his success, it seems he has finally lost his place in the starting XI to young Sergio Reguilon after a series of uncharacteristically poor performances. He has been linked with a move to Juventus after Cristiano Ronaldo took that path, and he recently revealed that he would be prepared to leave the club if his services aren’t wanted anymore.
