Tiemoue Bakayoko may have been a failure at Chelsea since his move from AS Monaco to Stamford Bridge in 2017 for a fee close to €50 million, but he has impressed on loan at AC Milan this season. The Rossoneri’s wish to make the deal permanent has been reported before, and Gazzetta dello Sport now claim they are still keen to make it happen.
He has so far made 25 appearances in all competition for the Italian giants, and hasn’t been able to find the opposition net from his position as a defensive midfielder.
There is, however, a significant obstacle the seven-time European champions may face in their quest for a permanent deal – they are being watched closely regarding their transfer activities in the light of Financial Fair Play rules. Nonetheless, they are hoping the fee they would have to pay Chelsea, given Bakayoko’s current “unwanted” status at the club, would be low enough to enable them to avoid any additional aggravation of UEFA’s regulations.
