Napoli head coach Carlo Ancelotti has confirmed the club’s interest in Villarreal’s Pablo Fornals, according to Sport.
The Serie A side may find themselves short of options in midfield soon, with Sevilla interested in signing Marko Rog while Paris Saint-Germain are considering Allan as a replacement for Adrien Rabiot. To counter such a possibility, a number of reports claim they are looking to reinforce the middle section of their team, and Ancelotti admits Villarreal’s 22-year-old playmaker is among the players attracting their attention, but he is not the only option.
Fornals is contract-bound to the Spanish club until the summer of 2022, but the deal apparently contains a €30 million buyout clause the activation of which would take the matter out of their hands.
Such a significant income would in turn provide manager Luis Garcia Plaza with the funds he needs in his quest to bring in a central defender and another midfielder.
