Neuer linked with City switch

Manchester City are considering a sensational £40m move for Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer, according to the Metro.

The move, which would make the Germany international the most expensive goalkeeper in World football casts further doubt over the future of Joe Hart, who has sat out of City’s last six Premier League matches.

Neuer, who is considered one of the World’s best shot-stoppers, kept a fourth consecutive Bundesliga clean sheet in Saturday’s 7-0 win over Werder Bremen.

Hart’s last appearance for City came in their 4-2 win over Viktoria Plzen a fortnight ago, and he is expected to be recalled for the club’s trip to the Allianz Arena, with both sides progress to the knockout stage already confirmed.

In what is sure to be billed as a head to head between the two keepers, Neuer can be backed at 6/4 to keep a clean sheet while Hart is a 8/1 chance.
